ACC Swimming Carnival

March 24, 2023

It has been rough waters when it comes to swimming carnivals over the last few years, so it was exciting to see the 110 strong swim team heading to HBF Stadium for the ACC ‘A’ Division Swimming Carnival on Wednesday. Chisholm continues to be in the mix, claiming 4th place overall. While the result is definitely due to some stellar individual performances, Chisholm really shined in relay events, showing depth and teamwork.

Additionally, Chisholm placed 3rd in the Junior Girls Championship and 4th in the Senior Girls Championship, resulting in 3rd place in the Girls Overall Championship.

Some outstanding individual performances must be recognised. The following swimmers managed to feature as a top scoring competitor for their respective age groups:

It was a day of firsts with this being the first ACC Swimming Carnival for our Year 7s and 8s. They certainly delivered with plenty of placings and personal bests. The highlight of the day would definitely have to be watching the Senior Girls Medley Relay absolutely dominate from start to finish and the whole team getting behind our Senior relay teams with some colourful vuvuzela highlights. To the swimmers who filled in or stepped up and raced in an older age group, thank you, your contribution does not go unnoticed. Thanks to our Year 12s who swam as hard as they could in their final swimming carnival, you all did Chisholm proud!

A quick thank you to all the staff and student helpers who attended the carnival, these days do not happen or run as efficiently without you. And to our Assistant Coach, Mr Kerr, your passion, expertise and enthusiasm is unmatched. We are very lucky to have you on our team!

Chisholm Swimming has really cemented itself as a mainstay in ‘A’ Division Swimming. There is plenty to be excited about in 2024, but at least for now, it is time to enjoy a few well-deserved sleep-ins.
