The Chisholm Music performance season officially kicked off last Friday evening, with the Chamber Ensembles Concert in the Chisholm Performing Arts Centre.
This concert featured students from Years 7 to 12 in the following ensembles: Senior Saxophone Ensemble; Senior Brass Ensemble; Cello Ensemble; Junior, Intermediate and Senior Flute Ensembles and the combined Flute Choir of 20 students.
These ensembles rehearse at recess and lunchtimes each week and put together a spectacular performance, despite many students only beginning rehearsals in Term 2 due to COVID restrictions.
Additionally, our Year 11 Flute students put together a beautiful pre-concert performance in the foyer to welcome audience members, dressed to the nines! The Year 11 Saxophonists also dressed for the occasion and the concert featured a combined Flute-Saxophone performance of Oye Como Va. Other repertoire included The Star Trek Theme, Maple Leaf Rag, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Drunken Sailor.
