Professional Learning

The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership provides an important focal point and resource for the on-going development and formation of excellent teaching practice. The AITSL Standards for Teachers form part of that Professional Learning framework and are used as one of the main reference points towards seeking continued improvement in the ways we teach our students.

Clear Formative Appraisal structures exist that review teacher performance and their on-going development. Constructive feedback, peer observation, collaborative programming and classroom delivery methods, experienced mentoring and other improvement strategies all contribute to enhancing professional learning for staff and continually extending the highest standards of teaching at Chisholm.
