It’s important for students to experience leadership opportunities during their schooling, to learn the art of building relationships within teams, defining identities and achieving tasks effectively. It also provides an opportunity to learn to identify and display effective communication and interpersonal skills. On Wednesday morning, following our whole school Opening Mass, our 2023 Prefects and Assistant Prefects were officially inducted into their positions.
Every single one of them was organised and well-prepared in the lead up to the event and rose to overcome any challenges or apprehensions they may have had prior to the day. The Year 10 Assistant Prefects eloquently described their senior Year 12 Prefects, providing a personal touch which was very well received by staff and students alike. All leaders embodied the Value of Character and are to be commended on the outstanding leadership they have shown so far in this important role. They are to be congratulated on a job very well done.
All Year 7-12 elected House Representatives will be inducted over the coming weeks and will each join and work with one of the Student Committees. Mrs Zimarino and the Student Wellbeing Committee will be running a sign-up opportunity for all students to learn more about the eight student committees and nominate to join a committee of interest to them.
Leadership is a skill for life and we ensure all students have regular opportunities to be involved and strengthen their skills.
