Last Friday night, Chisholm Catholic College proudly opened its annual Practical and Creative Arts Exhibition, celebrating the creativity, talent and dedication of our students across the practical and creative arts.

The Opening Night brought together families, staff and special guests to appreciate the outstanding work produced by our students throughout the year.

A highlight of the evening was hearing from Year 12 students Lucia Cugola and Francesca Macri, who shared their reflections on the importance of the arts during their time at Chisholm. Their speeches highlighted how these subjects offer students more than the opportunity to develop technical skills. They provide a space for self-expression, creative exploration and connection, fostering a sense of belonging that can be particularly valuable during the challenges of secondary school.

Their reflections also acknowledged the important role of our dedicated teachers and technicians, whose expertise, encouragement and patience help students develop their skills, pursue their interests and bring their ideas to life.

The Exhibition is a wonderful celebration of the creativity and individuality of our students, and of Chisholm’s commitment to educating the whole person. Through the practical and creative arts, students are encouraged to take risks, explore new possibilities and discover the lasting value of learning to create.

We extend our sincere thanks to all staff and students involved in preparing the Exhibition. Congratulations to all our student award recipients and thank you to our families and community for their ongoing support of the arts at Chisholm.
