The Aboriginal Education students went on an excursion on Tuesday to the Derrbal Yerrigan (Swan River). Everyone went for a 2km walk along the river and had a BBQ lunch.
After lunch, Mr Ricks took them to the shoreline of the river and spoke to them about the significance of the water and the Derrbal Yerrigan to Nyoongar people.
The day was beautiful with the rain staying away and the sun being out for majority of the time. The students bonded with one another and were able to have some fun outside of the school grounds. We look forward to many excursions to come in the new year for the Aboriginal Education students and staff.
