On Thursday 1 June, our team of 80 students headed to Alderbury Reserve led by our team Captains Ella Pyke and Daniel Gianatti (Year 12), Alicia Kenny and Thomas Gough (Year 10) for the ACC Cross Country Championships. It was an extremely competitive event with 89 schools in race sizes of up to 400. Our students left nothing on the track as they tackled the 3km (Years 7 and 8) and 4km (Years 9-12) courses. This determination saw our Girls finish 4th, with our Boys finishing 8th, giving Chisholm a 5th place overall finish.
Our best individual runners, who achieved an impressive ‘Top 50’ finish on the day, are as follows:
This success is a true reflection of not only the students’ hard work but also the commitment of our coaching team. Thank you to Assistant Coaches Mr Campeotto, Mrs Nicolau and Ms Powell, who have given up their time to ensure our students were prepared from training as well as Ms McLlheney and Mr Butler who attended on race day. Many thanks also to our VET students who assisted with Wednesday morning breakfasts and Mr Heyes for overseeing the ACC programme.
We look forward to setting our sights on cementing Chisholm on another Top 5 finish in 2024!
Mr Nic Italiano
