ACC Netball Championships

May 21, 2026

Tuesday afternoon wrapped up the home and away season of the ACC Netball Championships as Chisholm took on Swan Christian. In its inaugural year, the competition proved a great success with most teams being on even playing fields.

Despite missing our key shooter, Chisholm worked into the game nicely, gaining momentum with each quarter and adapting to new combinations. Madison Ellis stepped up in Goal Shooter, switching her usual moving role to a stronghold, allowing Maia Dean to be the runner in Goal Attack. Scarlett Francis and Tahliah Gonsalves continued to be a strong defensive duo, with Scarlett recording multiple intercepts, supported by Grace Allpike who played her role perfectly, shutting down the oppositions Wing Attack in the first half. Year 11s Lola Annall and Sophia Ruggiero enjoyed the chance to play together in the middle, with both players causing opposition turnovers in crucial moments.

A number of our players have external commitments, but we highlight Imogen Biddle, who on top of school studies, club netball and general Year 12 expectations, was also a member of the College Play which ran over the weekend. Alongside a gruelling rehearsal schedule, Imogen still trained, played and was a valued member of our team. Thank you and well done, Imogen.

Congratulations also go to Amelie Hogg and Amelia Forgione, our 2026 Train Ons, who both took to the court during the fourth quarter. It was fantastic to see two younger students get the opportunity to train and play alongside our seniors this term.

There are many people who support this team and help with the week to week operations. Thank you to Mr Ralph Heyes and the ACC officials who handle logistics, Charlotte Vaughan (Year 10) and Ms Jasmine Re who scored each home game, the umpires and opposition coaches, spectators and of course the parents, who drop off to early morning trainings and collect from late afternoon games.

It has been a privilege to work with a talented bunch of young women and I look forward to seeing where Chisholm netball goes over the next few years. To the Year 12 players, may you look back on your school netball journey with pride because you have represented the College beautifully. Best wishes with whatever comes next!

There is still a possibility Chisholm could progress to the Cross-Over Championship finals. Final ladder results will be available on 10 June.
