Brady Medal Presented to Our Principal

December 12, 2025

Recently, our Principal was acknowledged at the CEWA Thanksgiving Mass for his outstanding service to education – nearly 40 years in total, including 26 years as Principal across several Catholic schools.

On this special occasion, Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe presented Mr Bormolini with the Brady Medal.

We would like to share with our Chisholm community an excerpt from the Certificate below:

BRADY MEDAL 2025

“John began his journey in education in 1980 at Kalamunda Senior High School. This was the launching pad for a passion that would see John teach across five different Department of Education schools, a testament to his breadth of experience and commitment.

In 1997, John made a pivotal move to the Catholic sector, joining St Luke’s College Karratha as Deputy Principal. After three years of dedicated service in that role, John was appointed Principal of St Luke’s, a position he held with distinction for five years.

St Luke’s was just the beginning of a long and impactful career in leadership. John went on to hold Principal positions at both Emmanuel Catholic College and Chisholm Catholic College, bringing his characteristic vision and dedication to each school community.

When we look back on the entire span of this incredible service, it’s truly inspiring. John has served as a Catholic school Principal for a remarkable 26 years. John’s stewardship has shaped not only the culture and spirit of these schools, but the lives of countless students and staff who have benefited from his example. John has led with integrity and humility, always encouraging all to strive for excellence and to live out the values that define us as a Catholic community.

In addition to fulfilling the demanding role of Principal, John has made valuable contributions to multiple state and national education committees always providing wisdom, balance and a strong sense of equity.

We thank John for his incredible leadership, service, guidance and friendship.

We wish you peace, fulfilment and joy in whatever lies ahead.”
