Earlier this week, a group of Chisholm Catholic College staff had the privilege of visiting the Beagle Bay Community as part of our ongoing City-Country partnership. The visit was filled with laughter, learning and plenty of hands-on fun as we worked alongside the Beagle Bay students across all year levels. Mr Shanahan, Mr D’Amico and I were welcomed visitors to each classroom, bringing different focus areas and learning intentions to the school.
The youngest learners in the school, the Pre-Primary to Year 4 classes, were treated to an engaging science show where curiosity took centre stage, sparking wide-eyed wonder as they explored simple yet fascinating scientific phenomena.
The Year 3 and 4 students got creative and messy, learning about solids, liquids and gases and experimenting with different mixtures to make their own colourful slime. For the Year 5 and 6 group, things got bubbly as they investigated the science behind different solutions through an interactive bubble experiment.
Meanwhile, the secondary students rose to a design and engineering challenge, constructing and testing their own mini catapults in a friendly competition that blended creativity, teamwork and problem-solving.
It was a wonderful opportunity to share the excitement of learning through science, connect with the Beagle Bay community and celebrate curiosity in action. Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff and students of Beagle Bay for their warm welcome and enthusiasm throughout the visit.
We are incredibly grateful for the experience and are really looking to welcoming the Sacred Heart Secondary students to our Chisholm community during Week 4.6.
On either side of our wonderful visit on Nyul Nyul Country, we reconnected with various staff and students at St Mary’s Broome, planning and preparing for 2026.
We look forward to strengthening our partnership with both these country schools, with many exciting plans to 2026 starting to take shape.
