On Saturday 20 September, selected students took part in the annual Chinese Language Teachers’ Association of WA’s Speaking Competition, held at Edith Cowan University, Mt Lawley Campus. This exciting and highly competitive event brought together students from schools across Western Australia, all showcasing their Chinese language skills.
Our students performed exceptionally well:
- Olivia Wright (Year 7) – First Prize
- Aimy Jobin (Year 8) – Fourth Prize
- Zoe Gitonga (Year 9) – Third Prize
Congratulations to all the participants! Their success is a result of hard work, commitment and the time they dedicated to practising outside of classroom hours. Through this experience, they not only polished their speaking skills but also gained determination, patience and courage. We hope this event helped broaden their horizons and inspired them by seeing peers from other schools equally passionate about learning Chinese.
A heartfelt thank you to the parents and families who supported the students throughout the journey and stayed at the competition for hours, even when they didn’t understand the speeches. Your encouragement made a real difference!
