On Saturday evening, all the College’s large ensembles came together for the College Music Night. This renewed showcase concert, held in the Performing Arts Centre to a sold-out audience, reverted to an older tradition of Chisholm Music with the audience being entertained by both junior and senior Music students in the one performance. The College Concert Band, College Showband, College String Ensemble and College Choir were joined by our four training Year Group Bands (Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 Bands), College Brass Ensemble and our newest ensemble, the auditioned select chamber choir – Chisholm Voices. The audience was treated to a large variety of genres of music and were equally vocal in their support of our beginners and most senior musicians. Many thanks to all who were involved in planning and running this major event.
The evening also saw the introduction of a new tradition, with awards being presented to selected students for the College Ensembles and Year Level Bands for outstanding service throughout the year. The inaugural recipients were:
- Year 7 Band Award: Alexandra Nwe
- Year 8 Band Award: Asher Jupp
- Year 9 Band Award: Thomas Gregory
- Year 10 Band Award: Justin Soh
