On Thursday 2 September four Chisholm students from Year 11 attended “The State Schools’ Constitutional Convention”, together with Ms Clark. There were 80 students in total from 16 schools.
Eva Siamis reflected: “It was a great day where we were given the opportunity to meet new people with common interests and learnt interesting content from multiple UWA and Curtin University lecturers. We learnt about Australia’s parliamentary system of government, the 1999 Republic Referendum as well as the Uluru Statement from the Heart. The convention provided us a chance to express our opinions on matters relevant to our current world as well as develop our public speaking abilities. I had a great time meeting students from other schools and being able to learn from professionals on the day.”
