On Saturday 19 September, our students took to the track at Wanneroo International Raceway for the EV Challenge 2026.

Our school entered two teams, with both junior and senior students demonstrating impressive driving skills, teamwork, and engineering knowledge.

Our Year 10 junior team, Rose Glen, Linette Abraham, Caitlyn Simeons, Hannah Pollitt and Stella D’Esposito, put together a fantastic performance on the track. The team drove smoothly and consistently throughout the race, maintaining a strong pace.

Their consistent performance saw them finish in an excellent 5th place. Their engineering work was also recognised by the judges, with the team awarded 2nd place for Best Engineered Vehicle. 

Our Year 12 senior team, Wyatt Dykmans, Jean-Paul Rapy and Daniel D’Esposito, produced an equally impressive performance. The team showed excellent race pace and strategy, taking the lead and remaining at the front of the field for much of the race.

As the race progressed, the competition became increasingly close. Our team eventually dropped back into 2nd place and, despite their best efforts, were unable to regain the lead before the checkered flag.
