On Wednesday 27 August, Year 12 ATAR and General Visual Arts students enjoyed an inspiring excursion to the Art Gallery of Western Australia. During the visit, students participated in a guided art analysis workshop and explored the 2026 The West Australian Pulse Exhibition, an annual showcase celebrating the creativity and perspectives of emerging young artists across the state.
A highlight of the excursion was viewing Intersections, a dynamic and thought-provoking triptych by 2025 Chisholm graduate Dan Pham, which has been selected for this year’s exhibition. Seeing the work of a recent Chisholm graduate displayed in such a prestigious exhibition was both exciting and motivating for our current students.
The experience encouraged students to reflect on new ideas and directions for their own artistic practice, with many inspired by the possibility of one day representing the College in a future Pulse exhibition.
The West Australian Pulse 2026 exhibition runs until 13 September 2026 and visitors are invited to vote for their favourite artwork in the prestigious People’s Choice Award.
