FROM THE PRINCIPAL – First Carolean

February 6, 2026

Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Chisholm Catholic College,

“…a welcoming attitude reveals how much happiness is present in society. A happy community naturally develops the desire to generate and welcome others” (Pope Francis)

It is my pleasure to present my first Carolean report for Chisholm Catholic College and whilst it has only been a short time since my commencement, I have had it reaffirmed this week what an honour and privilege it is to share in the Ministry of leadership here at this terrific school.

There has been an air of excitement and welcome noise this week as our school has come alive with the return of our much-loved students. I have had the pleasure this week of welcoming our newest Year 7 students on their first day, as well as greeting our oldest students, the Year 12s, on the first day of their exciting last year.

On the first day for staff, we began with a special Liturgy which included the commissioning of staff new to Chisholm Catholic College. This Liturgy was conducted by Fr Greg Skulski SDS, returning to WA as the Superior of the Salvatorians Australian Region, and to Chisholm as our Chaplain.

It is my pleasure to welcome all of our new staff to Chisholm Catholic College:

  • Deacon Aaron Peters – Deputy Principal – Mission
  • Niloufar Arabahmadi – Science Laboratory Technician
  • Tina Ameduri – Uniform Shop Assistant
  • Sophie Anderson – Counsellor
  • Ingrid Condo – Uniform Shop Manager
  • Marissa Forgione – Languages Teacher
  • Ciaran Gallagher – Mathematics Teacher
  • Gareth Goerke – Director of Music
  • Sascha Gwynne – Administration Officer – Student Services
  • Olivia Hauser – Visual Arts Teacher
  • Vicki Hinks – Head of Year 7
  • Amy Hollingsworth – Library and eLearning Centre Coordinator
  • Ziahn Johnson – English Teacher
  • Rebecca Lawson – Education Assistant
  • Jordan Naylor – Mathematics Teacher
  • Steven Nicholas – Mathematics Teacher
  • Chiara Piccolo – Humanities and Social Sciences Teacher

I would like to acknowledge the outstanding work of our staff, who have worked tirelessly to prepare for the return of students and the year ahead. The professionalism, care and commitment to our students is evident in all they do, and I am very much looking forward to working alongside them. I also thank our families for the trust you place in Chisholm Catholic College and our staff, and for the vital role you play in supporting our Values of Character, Learning and Compassion.

Throughout the year, I look forward to getting to know students and families more personally and working in partnership to build on the many strengths of our school.

I am excited about the year ahead and confident that, together, we can make it a positive and rewarding one for all. I wish every member of our community a successful and fulfilling start to the school year.

God bless.

Mr Simon Harvey
