FROM THE PRINCIPAL – Growing Together in Faith and Community

August 28, 2025

Education never happens in isolation, especially not one rooted in faith. The well-known saying, “It takes a village to raise a child,” reminds us that growth into adulthood is best nurtured within a supportive and engaged community. At Chisholm, our Motto “To Grow in Christ” reflects this belief deeply.

Learning is a shared journey. It begins with parents and guardians as the first educators and is enriched by the broader community: parishes, schools, clubs and workplaces. These diverse spaces offer opportunities for young people to grow intellectually, socially and spiritually. At Chisholm, we are committed to the formation of the whole person, as expressed in our Mission.

Over the past few days, our College community came together for College Photographs. These images capture more than just faces – they reflect the many ways our students contribute and connect. Whether through their Pastoral Care Groups, student committees, sport, performing arts or other areas of service and skill, each photo tells a story of growth and belonging. Staff photographs also highlight the strength of our teaching community and the dedication of those who bring our Vision for Learning to life.

Further, our Virtual Whole College Photo will be taken throughout Monday. This occurs once every six years, allowing for a student to be present in a photo that celebrates the essence of Chisholm Catholic College – our community.

Community is not optional at Chisholm – it’s foundational. Our Vision Statement calls us to seek excellence, encouraging each individual to discover and live out their unique purpose. Together, let’s continue to nurture young people of Character, Learning and Compassion, in and through community.
