As all members of our Chisholm community would no doubt be aware, we are consistently looking to improve and enhance what we do within our teaching and learning and the overall educational experience for our students. This year will be the final year of our current Plan.
As such, work has already commenced on the next version of our plans in this respect that will encompass 2025 to 2027. With consultation from members of our community (much of which has already occurred through NSI survey data and feedback from our Quality Catholic Schools Review), we are refining the important focus areas for this new period and when this work is complete, will publish a new Strategic Directions document.
During 2025 in particular, significant work is already occurring around various themes, utilising the capacity of the College’s extended Middle Management group through our Heads of Learning Area and our Heads of Year, leading presentations and professional development on a weekly basis on Wednesdays. These initial themes include:
- Maximising collaboration by fostering partnership between the Academic and Pastoral Councils
- Exploring ways to enhance learning experiences for students through the design and utilisation of contemporary pedagogy and/or learning spaces
- Staff Collegiality: Working and learning together and to gain assistance, advice and encouragement from colleagues
- Being Safe and Supportive: providing an inclusive and culturally safe learning environment without fear of failure and clear encouragement towards resilience
- Empowering students to feel visible and having greater voice in relation to their learning needs and opportunities
- College Charism: Integrating the charism of the Dominican Order, Edmund Rice tradition and Caroline Chisholm’s legacy.
Further reference to these developing plans and work will be communicated to the College community throughout the year.
