FROM THE PRINCIPAL – Term 1 Week 2

February 12, 2026

Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Chisholm Catholic College,

Staff and students alike have commented to me that it is hard to believe that it is only week 2! Whilst true, it does feel like we have accomplished so much in that time already.

Please read further in the Carolean about just some of those special events that we have enjoyed together.

Of significant note for me, and one of the many highlights for me, was our Opening Mass and Student Leaders’ Induction held on Wednesday this week. Deacon Peters and Ms Rodrigues give more detailed reports in this edition of the Carolean for you to read but I wanted to capture one of Fr Ziggy’s many messages in his Homily which resonated with me.

Fr Ziggy, in describing our sense of community, used the analogy of the connectedness of branches on the vine. He said that: “…when one person struggles, we support. When one person succeeds, we celebrate…”.

This is so clearly evident in the early weeks of the year – we do struggle with new challenges, so time and resources are dedicated to support and we have many successes to celebrate. Events such as Wednesday are wonderful occasions to be thankful for what we have and what we achieve.

As Easter people, as people of hope, may our community sustain us in our struggles and in our success now and beyond.

Mr Simon Harvey
Principal
