On Wednesday, we celebrated the start of our new year with our full College Opening Mass and Prefects Investiture. This is always a wonderful celebration of the Eucharist with the whole school gathered in front of parents and special guests. It is also the first time that our new incoming Year 7 students are welcomed into the College proper, with a formal procession into the Br Olly Pickett Recreation Centre (our gym).
The occasion was made even more special as we honoured Br Olly Pickett, who joined us following his recent acknowledgement as Australian Senior Citizen of the Year. We also passed on a gift to him in recognition of his ongoing contribution and connection to Chisholm and the community broadly.
Congratulations to all of our newly installed Student Leaders and Special Ministers and I look forward to their work serving the student body and College this year.
Finally, following my recent detailed letter to everyone, I will soon forward another important communication for everyone in regard to artificial intelligence (AI) and how Chisholm is developing and implementing important principles around the use of this growing technology. The information will be useful particularly for parents in gaining a better understanding.
Mr John Bormolini
