During the week, the College held an important Parent Information Evening for Year 7 as a timely check-in following the first couple of weeks. It presented a valuable opportunity for new and existing parents of the College to hear about various matters for this new cohort as they roll into their first year. Inclusive of that was the chance for parents to meet with their child’s individual Pastoral Care Advisor and raise questions in an informal discussion format or to clarify anything in regard to this settling in period.
In wandering through the Year 7 area as I regularly do and chatting with our newest group of students, I can see that they are already very relaxed and enjoying the new connections and environment in which they find themselves. It’s a very engaging and noisy space at recess and lunchtimes.
It is also timely now to mention that we commence a new roll over of the enrolment cycle and soon we will begin the ordered process of calling for students entering in 2027, to interview.
I urge parents and guardians to ensure there is nothing outstanding in regard to the required paperwork accompanying application forms, if you have not already.
Demand for places at Chisholm remains highly competitive and is stronger than ever. This continues to reflect that the College is well regarded in attending to all of the facets that make up a well-balanced Catholic school. This is only further emphasised when families consider the comparative value of the educational opportunities and facilities that make up our College.
I urge parents not to be complacent in submitting applications and the required paperwork by our cut-off date for the first round of application processing and interview scheduling, which is Friday 14 March. This includes Catholic siblings who are not guaranteed a place if we do not receive the required application and information, something we remind parents of every year.
