FROM THE PRINCIPAL – Term 1 Week 8

March 27, 2026

Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Chisholm Catholic College,

We come to the end of the penultimate week of Term 1 and whilst relatively shorter in terms of weeks, it seems as though we’ve achieved and experienced so much.

My focus for this week is on the spirit of cooperation, teamwork and support shown by two of our sporting teams. I encourage you to read further in this newsletter from Ms Anderson and Mr Glover in particular.

I speak firstly, of our College Swim Team participating in the ACC ‘A’ Division Swimming Carnival on Wednesday. Whilst swimming, besides relays, is largely an individual sport, the widely felt impression both internally and by external sources, was that our Chisholm team displayed enormous spirit, camaraderie and passion for each other and the, clearly evident, sense of pride in the opportunity to represent our College.

Congratulations and thanks to Ms Anderson, Ms Powell and Ms Scriven and our coaches, and our swimmers lead by our Captains Mia, Olivia, Nate and Lauren.

Later that day, we were delighted with the performance of our Senior Boys’ Cricket team who took on and defeated La Salle College to progress to the Grand Final of the ‘A’ Division T20 competition in the prestigious Graeme Wood Shield. Consistency and composure were the order of the day, and as Mr Glover has shared, it was the team first approach and culture of playing for each other and our College that has seen our young men excel. Best wishes in the Grand Final at the WACA on Wednesday next week.

Finally, last year at Chisholm Catholic College has been captured beautifully with the release this week of the much-anticipated 2025 edition of our College Annual. It is not only amazing to reflect on how much we do and see in a school year, but also to enjoy the pictorial and written expression of this in such a vibrant way.

Heartfelt congratulations to our Community Relations Team for their work in collating, producing, editing, arranging printing and now the distribution of our 2025 College Annual. This includes Mrs Aimee Iacusso, Sr Chau Ho and Mr Marco Ieritano who were supported by Ms Taniya Rodrigues last year, and now by Mr John Swindells. We thank them for their teamwork, tireless energy, enthusiasm, care and skill in producing an annual of such wonderful quality.

God bless.

Mr Simon Harvey
