On Wednesday, the College took time as we always do, to recognise the importance of ANZAC Day and the sacrifices made by all men and women in dedicated service to our country. Our service was held in front of our Chapel with a number of Cadets and students involved and the College choir giving a very moving rendition of ‘In Flanders Fields’. The event was also live streamed into all our PCG classrooms for our whole College to see. Thank you to all involved.
It highlighted a recent visit I undertook to Canberra last month where we broke from meetings to visit the Australia War Memorial at 4pm as part of the daily Last Post Ceremony. The Australian War Memorial in the capital houses a very impressive museum dedicated to all who have served in the Armed Forces and is certainly a place worth visiting at some stage in life. Our local equivalent at Albany also has a very significant museum and memorial to the ANZAC story worth visiting if in that part of the world.
