Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Chisholm Catholic College,
“Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” (Saint Francis of Assisi)
As we progress through the opening weeks of Term 2, it has been pleasing to see the calm and purposeful manner in which students and staff have returned to learning and College activities. Classrooms have quickly re-established their rhythm and there is a strong sense of focus across the College as students continue to build on the progress made during Term 1.
This week has also provided an opportunity to celebrate participation, perseverance and House Spirit through our Athletics Carnivals. Our Year 7 and 8 students enjoyed an energetic and enthusiastic carnival, while our Year 9 to 12 students demonstrated both competitive spirit and encouragement of one another throughout their events. These occasions are always a valuable reminder that success is measured not only in results, but also in teamwork, resilience and the willingness to give one’s best.
I extend my sincere thanks to our Health and Physical Education staff for their outstanding organisation and preparation of these carnivals. Their efforts, together with the support of many staff members, ensured the events were enjoyable, safe and well run for all students.
I commend our students for the manner in which they represented themselves and their Houses, and I thank families for their ongoing support as we continue together through what promises to be a productive and rewarding term.
God bless.
Mr Simon Harvey
Principal
