You may be aware that, in April this year, Education Ministers endorsed Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority’s (ACARA) F–10 Australian Curriculum. ACARA was tasked by Ministers to refine, realign and declutter the Foundation to Year 10 curriculum. With further iterative work requested, by Ministers, to the Mental Health content within the Health and Physical Education learning area, this revision should be completed by ACARA by the end of 2022.
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) which is responsible for Kindergarten to Year 12 curriculum, assessment, standards and reporting for all Western Australian schools has commenced reviewing the endorsed Australian Curriculum in order to consider possible areas to ‘adapt and/or adopt’ as well as a timeline for implementation in collaboration with all school systems and sectors. In the interim, Western Australian schools will continue to use the current version of the Western Australian Curriculum.
On Thursday 2 June our ACC Cross Country team travelled to Alderbury Reserve (Perry Lakes) to represent Chisholm in this year’s carnival. While the blustery weather conditions at the beginning of day may have posed a threat to personal best performances, the many hours of training came to the fore with Chisholm Catholic College achieving 4th place overall – an outstanding achievement from 80+ schools being represented. Further results have been published on the College website.
I thank all students for their dedication and display of sportsmanship in this competition. They all represented the College with distinction. I also thank Mr Nic Italiano (Head Coach – Cross Country) and all other staff who supported and motivated our athletes which lead to a successful carnival.
I hope you have an enjoyable long weekend and week ahead.
