Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Chisholm Catholic College,

NAIDOC Week is celebrated nationally in the early part of July but because this is often during our winter holidays, schools have the approval to celebrate early in Term 3. This week we have enjoyed a host of activities to mark and celebrate NAIDOC Week here at Chisholm and I thank our First Nations Team for their efforts in bringing this week to life.

Each year, NAIDOC Week provides our College community with a special opportunity to celebrate the rich history, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, recognising the important place that First Nations people hold in Australia’s story.

While NAIDOC Week is an important celebration, it also reminds us that we must work to embrace these values every day of the year. Our hope is that the lessons of NAIDOC Week extend well beyond a single week on the calendar. By celebrating diversity, showing kindness and ensuring everyone feels they belong, we continue to build a school community that reflects God’s love every day of the year.

Thank you to the staff, students and families who help make our school a place where every person is seen, valued and included. Together, we can continue to grow a community that celebrates both our shared humanity and the richness of our diverse backgrounds.
