Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Chisholm Catholic College,
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you made me welcome, lacking clothes and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me…in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me” Matthew: 25: 35 – 40).
Our Chisholm Feast Day, celebrated today, provided an exciting opportunity to come together as a community for faith and service.
A particular highlight was our Feast Day Mass, where we paused from the busyness of Term 3 life in our school, to give thanks for the many blessings we enjoy. Celebrating the Eucharist together remains one of the most powerful ways we strengthen our identity as a faith-filled Catholic community.
The day was also marked by outstanding support for our fundraising initiatives. The generosity shown by our students, families and staff was a powerful reminder that service to others remains at the heart of who we are as a Catholic community.
The scripture reference above was taken from the Gospel of today’s Mass and so relevant to describe the importance of Chisholm Day.
While the day included many moments of celebration and enjoyment, it was the spirit of faith, community and generosity that made it truly special. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day such a meaningful and successful occasion.
I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge how blessed we are to have the Salvatorians as part of our community for many years. This year, it was a privilege to share in a Eucharistic celebration marking some incredible milestones in the history of the Salvatorian Order;
- 145th anniversary of the Salvatorian Order
- 65th anniversary of the Salvatorian Ministry in Australia
- 25th anniversary of the Salvatorian Ministry in the Ocean Reef Parish.
Congratulations to our Salvatorians and heartfelt thanks for the 34 years of dedicated service to Chisholm Catholic College – we hope for many more.
