Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Chisholm Catholic College,
Welcome to the first Carolean of Term 4, it has been a bright and energetic start to the final term of the year, made all the brighter with the return of our students and staff this week.
So much happens beyond the classroom, even during the holiday breaks. The last two weeks are proof of this with Year 12 College examinations, campus upgrades and maintenance and most notably, the Vietnam Immersion. I recommend to you all, the article shared by Deacon Peters in this edition, sharing the wonderful connection with Dominican sisters, schools and communities in Vietnam. As Deacon Peters shares:
“These friendships and experiences will remain with us long into the future and continue to shape the way we see the world and our place within it.”
As widely reported in our Term 3 Carolean newsletters, the practical, creative and performing arts are a significant focus in Term 3. It is clearly apparent that this continues into Term 4 with the official opening of our Practical and Creative Arts Exhibition this evening.
The work displayed in our exhibition is the result of countless hours of dedication – and it reflects the vibrant spirit of our College community.
I would like to extend my congratulations to all our students for the effort and passion shown in producing such exceptional pieces of work. I would also like to thank our talented staff in the Creative and Practical Arts Learning Area for their ongoing commitment and guidance. Their encouragement and expertise make opportunities like this possible for our students.
Students cannot share these gifts without the support of parents and families and so I also acknowledge them for supporting the creative and vibrant approach to the Arts shown by our young people.
I encourage all in our community to make an effort to come and visit the exhibition – all are welcome, you won’t be disappointed.
God bless.
Mr Simon Harvey
Principal
