FROM THE PRINCIPAL – Term 4 Week 3

October 30, 2026

Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Friends of Chisholm Catholic College,

It has been fantastic to have had two teams in this year’s Law Society of Western Australia Mock Trial Competition – Themis and Dennis Danutoes. The icing on the cake of course, was that one of these fabulous teams, Dennis Denutoes, made it through the Grand Final last night at the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

And it was amazing that the Denutoes came out on top, victors in an awesome display of composure and quick thinking, to take out the Grand Final!!!

Whilst thrilled with this outcome, what is of most importance, has been the participation of our students in this very prestigious competition. To participate takes hard work, dedication and the important skills of legal acumen and protocol, public speaking and critical thinking.

I would like to acknowledge all members of both teams;

I would also like to extend heartfelt congratulations to our staff; Mr Gotti, Mr Dhue and Ms Clark, for their personal and professional dedication and support. It is also an enormous privilege, an understatement in itself, to have the Honourable John McKechnie KC AO, supporting and advising our students.

We are incredibly proud of the efforts of our young people. We look forward to celebrating their achievements and reflecting on this memorable Mock Trial journey in 2026.

We continue to keep our Year 12 students in our thoughts and prayers, as they navigate the WACE examinations, which commenced this week.

God bless.
