On Tuesday, the Year 7-9 House Representatives went to the GRIP Leadership Conference at the Perth Convention Centre. We learnt all about what makes a great leader, how to make improvements to our school culture, how we can improve our own leadership effectiveness etc. We came across many topics and discussions on how we can identify our own self qualities and how we can improve on our leadership skills. It was a great opportunity for the House Representatives to take the knowledge from this and use it in our everyday lives. It was a big opportunity to learn more about how we can improve and be a better leader that all our classmates can follow.
There were many benefits of attending this conference. We drew closer with our peers as well as with others from different schools. It was a great time to reflect on how we, as leaders, guide others to be the best version of themselves and to provide the best ideas we can give. From today’s experience, we take pride in our work ethic and strive to be a respectable leader for our peers to follow, no matter the sacrifices we must make. On behalf of all the house representatives, we owe a big thank you to the ECU Community and the GRIP Leadership Team. It was an enjoyable experience that we wish we could experience again.
