Main Roads and the City of Bayswater have asked schools to share the School Zones and Childrens Crossings Program – FAQs – FY 2024-25 with our communities, along with the associated video, highlighting the recent changes to school crossings.
This is timely as we begin a new semester, particularly as the Traffic Wardens, situated outside the College’s main gates, have shared concerns for the safety of our students – your children. Their concerns include cars not driving to the end of the slip lane off Beaufort Street (morning drop off only) causing road blocks at the crosswalk, students getting out of cars on the road before/after the crossing and students crossing Beaufort Street outside the crossing limits. These behaviours are dangerous and inconsiderate during peak periods and we are grateful that the Traffic Wardens have been in touch so that action can be taken before someone gets hurt.
The safety of our children remains a priority and consideration should be given to what we are all doing to contribute to this. Continue to adhere to the Chisholm’s Drop Off/Pick Up Guidelines as this ensures a smoother movement of vehicles, respects nearby residents and prioritises student safety. Your cooperation in following these traffic rules is appreciated.
