On Tuesday, the Aboriginal Education Team took the Aboriginal Education students on an excursion to the WA Museum Boorla Bardip, attending an Aboriginal workshop called ‘Managing Country’. This explored the reasons why Aboriginal People manage the land, how land management is practised and the importance of these practices. We had a facilitated style tour which guided us through the Changes and Origins Galleries of the Museum, where the staff and students were immersed in the fascinating information and videos shown throughout. It was an eye-opening excursion and everyone learnt new things about Aboriginal traditional land management practices.
