The Blue Tree Project began in Western Australia and encourages people to paint blue a dead tree (environmentally mindful) that needs a ‘blue lease on life’ to promote mental health awareness.  

Many communities across Australia and other parts of the world have taken up the opportunity to paint a tree blue, acting as beacons of hope and conversation starters about mental health.

You may have noticed the blue tree situated in the garden bed, at the exit point of the Young Street car park, close to the top of Belham Street. A reminder to our community that we need not wait for R U OK? Day to check-in with family and friends.
