Year 11-12 ACC Championship Quarter Finals

August 6, 2021

After progressing into the quarter finals of the Netball competition our team travelled to Corpus Christi on Tuesday afternoon.  The girls matched Corpus in what was a very hard-fought and competitive game and at half-time the teams were evenly matched.  As the third and fourth quarters unfolded, Corpus Christi managed to get a hold of the game and pulled away in the final quarter to win by 37-26.

The Boys Soccer team faced a tough challenge against Mercy College in their quarter final tie on Wednesday afternoon. Chisholm more than matched Mercy in all areas of the game and were unlucky not to take the lead after a disallowed goal late in the first half.

Mercy opened up a 2-0 lead early in the second half and Chisholm had a setback, after going a player down for foul play.  However, undaunted by this, the team showed great character in scoring two late goals to take the game to a 2-2 tie after normal time.

As per the ACC charter the game went straight to a penalty shoot-out, and whilst great drama and theatre was created, Chisholm went down agonizingly by 5-4.

Both the Netball and Soccer teams should be proud of their achievements in 2021 and upon reflection, have upheld the school values of Character, Compassion and Learning.
