Our ONSITE General students have now completed four weeks in the workplace and it has been rewarding to see many begin to recognise the value of the programme.
Year 12 student, Ashton, shares his experience:
“During my time at ONSITE while at school, I gained hands-on experience in several industries that have shaped my career interests. Last year, I worked in the Navy shipbuilding industry, where I was involved in both the fitout and piping/mechanics sides of projects. This gave me practical insight into construction, engineering systems and problem-solving in a real-world environment. This year, I have been working at Motorcycle Masters, where I assist with maintenance, repairs and general mechanical work on motorcycles. These experiences have helped me develop technical skills, attention to detail and a strong work ethic. They have also given me a clear understanding of my passion for mechanical and technical work, helping me decide on a career path that combines hands-on engineering and mechanical problem-solving.”
