On Wednesday, nearly 2000 staff, students and guests gathered to celebrate the Opening Mass and Prefect Induction, as we officially launched the 2025 Academic Year.

We were especially delighted to welcome Dominican Sister – Sr Margaret Scharf OP and also Christian Brother – Br Olly Pickett AM. Br Olly was fondly acknowledged and celebrated as the 2025 Senior Australian of the Year, which is an outstanding and worthy accolade for someone who truly has worked tirelessly to make the world a better place!

This year’s celebration held special significance as we also marked 2025 as the Jubilee Year in our Church – a time of renewal and hope for our faith community. The Mass fostered a deep sense of unity and purpose, while the Prefect Induction honoured our newly appointed Student Leaders, who pledged to serve and represent the College with care, integrity and dedication. This important event set a strong foundation for the year ahead, reinforcing our College’s Mission, Vision and Values.
