On Tuesday, the Year 10, 11 and 12 students were fortunate to attend presentations throughout the day by Paul Dillon. These sessions varied depending on the year level, however they covered the following topics:
- Young people, alcohol and risk taking: Looking after your mates.
- Alcohol and cannabis: What do you and your friends need to know?
- Last year at school: What do I need to know about alcohol and other drugs?
The response from the students was fantastic, as they were engaged, shocked and impressed by Paul’s extensive knowledge, delivered in an honest and at times humorous way. The positive feedback received from the students gives great hope that the messages Paul attempted to deliver were successful.
Paul also presented to a group of parents and staff on Tuesday evening, discussing ‘vaping’ and giving parents information and practical strategies to start conversations with their children regarding the topic.
