The 2021 Practical and Creative Arts Exhibition was officially opened on Monday night with an outstanding array of talent on display. We started the evening with an upbeat performance by finalists from Chisholm’s Got Talent (several Year 12s who returned from study leave especially for the opening), who played Danza by Lucky Chops.
This was followed by the Awards Ceremony where 75 students were recognised for their exemplary work, receiving awards in the Learning Areas of: Business and Information Technology, Design and Technology, Home Economics, Visual Arts, Media and Photography. We are immensely proud of their exceptional work but also extremely thankful for the commitment of staff from those Learning Areas. Their dedication is inspirational as they cultivate the talents of our students.
The College also inaugurated a special award, the Tina Sacino Award for the Most Promising Senior Artist, in honour of a beloved staff member who passed away last year. The significance of her contribution to Arts education at the College and impact on staff and students alike cannot by expressed enough and we are grateful to the members of her family who were able to be present.
Once the Exhibition was opened, the display was enjoyed by various community members including parents, students, visiting primary schools and special guests. Visitors also appreciated the service of refreshments and textile models showcasing their particular talents. The exhibition was also enjoyed by our visiting grandparents, during Grandparents’ Morning. Many comments were made on the extraordinary quality of the work. Congratulations to all – we admire your commitment to your craft!
