Practical and Creative Arts Exhibition

October 19, 2023

We warmly welcomed our College community to the 2023 Practical and Creative Arts Exhibition this week. Our Exhibition is an outstanding showcase of the many creative and practical talents of our students. Magnificent work in Visual Arts, Design and Technology, Home Economics, Media and Photography were on display. Our College Showband opened our Awards Ceremony with energy, enthusiasm and excellence.

Our Guest Speaker on Opening Night was Michael Millimaci (Class of 2015), who shared his inspirational journey in the creative industries. Michael’s passion for Media and Music has taken him to Sydney, Singapore and beyond. He worked for award-winning public relations agencies in Sydney, working with leading brands such as Spotify, Instagram, Uber and the South Australian Tourism Commission. Relocating back to Perth this year, Michael currently works for Tourism Western Australia, where he oversees the media representation to help drive tourism across our domestic and international markets. His band, Scarlet Drive, has toured nationally and their original songs have achieved success in local and international charts.

The commitment of our amazing staff in Visual Arts, Design and Technology, Home Economics, Media and Photography cannot be understated. They have worked alongside our students throughout the year to nurture and develop our students’ excellence and skills, sharing their passion for the practical and creative arts and playing a part in shaping these students and their brilliant work.

A huge thank you to Heads of Learning Area, Mr Jason Auld and Mrs Erin Maddison, their dedicated staff for setting up the Exhibition; Mr Chris Milne for his musical direction of the talented College Showband; our Home Economics staff and students for preparing and serving refreshments; Mrs Aimee Iacusso and Mrs Jill Collins at the front office for their organisation extra-ordinaire; Mr Don Armstrong and Mrs Nicole Huggins, our Bio Box experts; Mr Marco Ieritano and Sr Chau Ho from Community Relations and the Executive Leadership Team for their assistance and all invited guests for attending on Opening Night or visiting our Exhibition throughout the week.
