Yesterday, our College paused to celebrate R U OK? Day, a day dedicated to reminding us of the importance of the mental wellbeing of every member of our College community.
Early in the morning, the Student Wellbeing Committee decorated the campus with messages encouraging conversations, handed out wristbands, stickers and leaflets with tips and information on how to start a conversation and listen attentively to other people.
We held a special morning tea for staff and organised plenty of activities and games for students at lunchtime. Josie, the Wellbeing Prefect, addressed the staff and thanked them for their pastoral care of all students.
Special thanks go to Mrs Joanne Zimarino and the Student Wellbeing Committee for their hard work in organising and running the day’s activities. We also thank Mrs Fiona Millimaci for her support of the Committee. We hope that every day can be an R U OK? Day, where we ask the question more often to more people and genuinely listen to them.
