Senior Chinese Class Cultural Excursion

February 24, 2022

After a challenging Year of the Ox, here we are in the Year of the Tiger. We know it hasn’t been easy-going for most of us during this unprecedented period, but we tried to spot the rainbow even on cloudy days. I am grateful for the 21 students from Year 10 to Year 12 Chinese classes who celebrated Lunar New Year with me at a Chinese restaurant in Morley on 11 February.

In Chinese culture, having a meal is not only to enjoy the food but most importantly to showcase the warmth, love and to strengthen the bond among people. I witnessed how my senior students were having fun, strengthening relationships among themselves while having delicious food. A few of them enthusiastically took the challenge of using chopsticks which was very impressive.

So, let’s take this year as an opportunity to think like a tiger, by charging ahead with strength, might, proactiveness, and determination. ē„å¤§å®¶å¦‚虎귻ēæ¼ č’øč’øę—„äøŠ meaning ā€œI wish everyone to forge ahead with the vigour and vitality of the tigerā€.
