Chisholm delivered a disciplined all-round performance to claim victory over La Salle in all schools, A division, T20 Competition – The Graeme Wood Shield.
La Salle won the toss and elected to bat. Chisholm’s bowlers applied consistent pressure to restrict the opposition to 8/89. The standout performer was Julian, who produced an excellent spell of 4/16 from his four overs. He was well supported by Hamish (2/14) and single wickets to James and Sam, while the broader bowling unit suffocated the La Salle batting line-up.
In reply, the batting unit showed composure and maturity. Mitchell anchored the innings sensibly, finishing unbeaten on 44 from 48 balls. He was well supported by James (22), who helped build the platform for the chase. Late acceleration came from Austin’s unbeaten 19 from just 9 deliveries (including a 6) ensuring Chisholm reached the target with 4 overs to spare.
This team has built a team first culture over the last two years and deserves their spot in the Grand Final at the WACA ground next week. Thanks to all who came to support from the sidelines. The Grand Final will be played on Wednesday 1 April from 5pm at the WACA ground.
