Last Thursday we held our annual Stellatus showcase. This event was a chance for our Stellatus students to show their talents and passions. The Year 7 and Year 9 students were given the opportunity to work on a passion project of their choosing, whilst the Year 8 students worked on town planning projects.
Each year the showcase goes from strength to strength, students’ efforts this year were of an extremely high standard and we had around 200 people come through the showcase to view the students work.
Each student had to present their work and answer a multitude of “on the spot questions” from all of our guests. A number of the students also took on the daunting task of speaking about their projects over the microphone.
Each of the projects were judged on the night and this year our first place winners were:
Year 7 – The Immune System (Tom Le)
Year 8 – City of Bayswater (Annabelle Francis, Poppy Southern and Thea Bradley)
Year 9 – Mental Health on the Menu (Chloe Langley and Escher Clover)
An evening like this is not possible without the hard work and dedication of our fabulous Stellatus teachers: Mr Paul Shanahan – Year 8 and Ms Gina Goddard – Year 9. Thank you for all of the time and effort you put in to help the students with the projects and committing your time to the evening. Also thanks to Mrs Nicole Huggins for her guidance and help in setting up this evening.
