Year 7 student, Summer Canham, recently competed at the National Athletics Championships in Brisbane.

Representing TeamWA, Summer went up against the best young athletes from across Australia in discus, shot put and javelin.

She gave it her all and delivered an outstanding performance, bringing home a Gold Medal in javelin, and earning the title of Australia’s best U12 girl in the event – coming incredibly close to breaking the national record. Summer also came 4^th in shot put and 13^th in discus.
