From Ela Gulhan (Year 12) – “The Toad”
“Joining the production was an experience I didn’t quite anticipate but am so completely grateful for. I had so many questions and doubts: “It’s the first year, I won’t get a good role”; “There are so many others who are better than me, they deserve the roles.”
The bravest thing I did this year was ignoring those doubts and putting myself out there. Once the auditions had finished, I was overjoyed to discover I had gotten the role of ‘Toad’, in “The Wind in the Willows” alongside double cast Josie McAllister.
I have gained so many friends in younger years who look up to me and make me feel confident in my acting abilities, valued and most of all proud.
Production has opened so many opportunities and even encouraged me to audition for WAAPA, something that I didn’t think I had the talent to even audition for.
I cannot thank our casting Directors enough for taking a chance on me and everyone who was involved in the Production, from teachers, staff, cast and crew, alumni, parents and the orchestra. Your efforts have been so valued and without every one of you, our Production would be nothing.
To all of you, thank you for making mine and everyone else’s Production experience a golden one.
To the Year 12s, I hope your last show was an amazing one, with friends and memories you’ll keep for years to come.
Thank you to all of you who came to watch. You helped bring the show to life and we hope to see you at the next one!”
From Roman Kaless (Year 10) – “The Rat”
“Chisholm’s 2023 Production of ‘The Wind in the Willows’ had a large responsibility.
As the first Production since ‘Seussical’ to be unaffected by COVID, everyone was expecting big things and excited to finally get to display their dramatic abilities to the wider Chisholm community. You can ask anyone in Production and they will be able to tell you that it not only met expectations, it exceeded them greatly. Everyone massively enjoyed it and made memories that will last a lifetime.”
