Whether your child has recently taken part in an Elevate workshop, is preparing for exams or simply wants to build stronger learning habits, the Library’s Study Skills Online is a great place to start.
The school encourages the following amount of home study per school day:
Year 7 – 1 hour | Year 8 – 1.5 hours | Year 9 – 2 hours |
Year 10 – 2.5 hours | Year 11 – 3 hours | Year 12 – 3.5 hours |
Knowing what to do and how to structure this time is difficult. Through the Library Portal, your child now has access to Study Skills Online, a quick and flexible online resource designed to help students study smarter, not harder.
What is Study Skills Online?
Study Skills Online is a growing collection of short, focused online courses available anytime through the College’s Library Portal. Think of it as a toolkit for study; packed with practical strategies and resources your child can start using straight away.
It’s a place to:
- Embed what they learnt with Elevate – reinforce and practise the strategies introduced during Elevate sessions
- Learn new study skills – discover fresh techniques to make studying more effective and efficient
- Reinvigorate skills they might have forgotten – revisit and refresh approaches that may have slipped over time
- Ignite their passion for study – spark motivation and help them find joy in learning.
Quick, Practical and Student Friendly
Every course is 5 minutes or less short enough to fit into a busy schedule but packed with everything needed to truly master the skill.
Each course is carefully designed to give students:
- All the key information they need
- Practical resources to take away and use
- A clear, confidence boosting path to mastering each skill in minimal time.
