Preparations for our 2026 Vietnam Immersion are well underway, with 25 students and five staff now meeting regularly in anticipation of this transformative experience. These sessions have provided an opportunity for participants to build community while learning about the rich history, traditions and culture of Vietnam. Students have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm as they deepen their understanding of the people and places they will soon encounter.
This week, the group began learning some basic Vietnamese phrases to help them communicate respectfully and meaningfully during the Immersion. While our Australian-accented pronunciation has led to some entertaining moments, it has also highlighted the importance of humility and openness when engaging with another culture.
As part of their preparation, the group collaboratively brainstormed and composed an Immersion Prayer. We share this prayer with our wider Chisholm community and invite you to join us in praying for the journey and all involved.
We also encourage families to support the Immersion through upcoming fundraising activities, including Bunnings sausage sizzles and a Spring Roll sale at school. Funds raised will be donated to our partners in Vietnam to support their important and ongoing work.
