On Monday, the Vietnam Immersion team had the privilege of visiting the Telethon Speech and Hearing and it was a very heartwarming and informative excursion. This opportunity was extended to us to gain insight into hearing impairments and witness the nurturing environment that supports children with hearing loss.
We were warmly welcomed and guided through the Institution by Ms Belinda Leksas, Head of External Relations and Facilities. Ms Leksas introduced us to the school, its facilities and the services they offer to children with hearing loss. She also shared some valuable advice on effective communication with children who have hearing impairments.
This visit has equipped our Vietnam Immersion team with knowledge and understanding that we can put to practical use during our upcoming visit to a hearing-impaired school in Vietnam next month.
We extend our gratitude to the Telethon Speech and Hearing staff, with special thanks to Mr Daniel Lombardo – Head of Growth and Projects, Ms Belinda Leksas, Mr Brenna Chapman and Miss Bonnie Tran for taking time out from their busy schedule to provide us with this invaluable experience.
It was all round a very enjoyable excursion and we look forward to Vietnam!
