The Vietnam Immersion Team has been busy preparing for our upcoming trip to Vietnam at the end of this term. Our preparations have included learning basic conversational Vietnamese, and working on specials projects for our partner schools, such as painting a mural on the grounds of Hoa Hong School that will bring colour and joy to the school environment. Song and dance forms an integral part of Vietnamese Culture, so the team has been preparing dance performances to share and teach to the various communities we will work with, such as the infamous ‘Nutbush’ choreography.

We will host two more fundraising events this Term in a bid to increase the support we can provide to our partner schools and the Dominican Sisters who strive to make education more accessible to the wider community. In addition to the usual school supplies we plan to bring, we also wish to raise enough funds to purchase two printer/photocopier machines for Hoa Hong and the Indigenous boarding school, which will significantly enhance their educational resources. Our next major fundraising event will be a Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings Bayswater. This event is scheduled for Saturday 3 August, and will run from 8:00am to 4:00pm. We hope to see you all there!
