The 2023 Winter Sleepout was a great night of sharing and educational activities. The focus was on both learning about the serious issues of homelessness in Australia as well as ‘sleeping rough’ as an act of building empathy and showing solidarity.

I congratulate the 31 Chisholm Ministers, Social Justice Committee members and student leaders who gave up their Friday night to: gather around the fire, eat basic/donation style foods, hear from a representative from the Vinnies, watch an episode of Filthy Rich & Homeless as well as participate in multiple games and activities designed to both educate, build empathy and consider ways we can all help those in need.

Huge thanks to the staff (Mrs Lopez-Paterson, Miss Ranalli, Mrs Wainwright, Mr Roveadatti and Mr Ryan) who were pivotal to the night’s learnings and enjoyment.
